Thanks for the link Tim. I do agree that Hibbert's struggles are having an impact on Granger. At the beginning of the season when the ball was snapping around the perimeter and off the ball movement was good he didn't have to take those shots because other good ones were available for him and his teammates. With things breaking down around him now he seems more determined to shot hunt.

I'm watching the Hawks game right now and a great example of what I'm talking about occurs at the 4:44 mark. Granger catches the ball about 19-20ft. away from the basket on the right wing with Joe Johnson right in front of him. You can tell he's going to take the jumpshot as soon as he catches it, but he gives two half-hearted jab steps and then rises up. Johnson is right there to contest the shot. Maybe I feel like I'm seeing this more often than it's actually occurring because it's one of those things that makes me absolutely nuts.

I agree though that when the whole offense, including Hibbert, was clicking more at the beginning of the season Granger didn't feel he had to take that shot.

Thanks again for the link Tim!

To clarify, I was only speaking of the scoring/shooting re: Tyler.

Also, Granger picked up his fifth foul only 24 seconds after Dunleavy had gone to the bench. Dunleavy had played about the previous 10 minutes of game time. George was ineffective, so it's not like there were a lot options, particularly given the Spurs playing two small guards.

Too much of what we saw was classic Tyler behavior to think it was fluky. And Danny's struggles don't seem fluky anymore to me, but rather the new normal.

Pulling Dunleavy, when he'd scored 9 of the last 13 Pacers points, and bringing in a 2nd point guard 2 minutes later when DG got his 5th foul seems unfortunately not to be fluky behavior on JOB's part either.

Kudos to O'brien for starting Tyler. Frustrated sigh directed his way for the 4th qtr substitutions.
