Post-Game Grades: Pacers Destroy the Worst Team in the NBA (the Bobcats)
If you’re any good, when the worst team in the NBA enters your gym, you should kick their ass. And that’s just what the Pacer did in smoking the Bobcats tonight 108-73. The bigs were especially dominant as David West and Roy Hibbert just destroyed the Charlotte bigs by combining for 32 points on 14-for-18 shooting. The individual play, while laudable in many respects, wasn’t what was the most impressive, however. It was a team-wide dismantling as the defense did the most damage and the ball movement got everyone good looks.
There is nothing to complain about for Pacers fans after this one. Sure, it has been wins over the Nets and the Bobcats that helped right the ship, but the Pacers look fully back on track after a highly troubling skid that saw them lose 5 straight. This isn’t to say everything is rosy, but the team once again looked like one that needs to be taken seriously as it dismantled Charlotte.
Best of all? The Pacers get to play the borderline-DLeague-Bobcats again on Wednesday.
|David West - 23 MIN | 7-10 FG | 8 REB | 3 AST | 3 BLK | 14 PTS
Absolute beast in the first half. Arguably his best as a Pacer.
|Danny Granger - 26 MIN | 5-14 FG | 4-5 FT | 4 REB | 14 PTS
Missed a bunch of threes but forced the action and passed the ball well.
|Roy Hibbert - 26 MIN | 7-8 FG | 4-6 FT | 14 REB | 18 PTS
Sick line and made the Bobcats look like the worst team in the NBA, which they are.
|Darren Collison - 29 MIN | 2-6 FG | 6-6 FT | 2 REB | 6 AST | 11 PTS
Missed a few pull up jumpers in transition but there was nothing wrong with his game tonight.
|Paul George - 22 MIN | 3-10 FG | 7 REB | 1 AST | 7 PTS
Got called for a few tough fouls which put him on the bench but played well while he was out there in less-than-typical minutes. Is becoming one of the best rebounding “guards” in the NBA.
|Jeff Foster - 6 MIN | 0-1 FG | 2 REB (2 ORB) | 0 PTS
Wasn’t really needed in such a blowout.
|Dahntay Jones - 22 MIN | 5-8 FG | 1 REB | 1 AST | 12 PTS
Really can score off he bench. Played excellent.
|Louis Amundson - 13 MIN | 1-4 FG | 2-3 FT | 4 REB | 0 AST | 4 PTS
Great block and did his job.
|A.J. Price - 22 MIN | 2-7 FG | 3 REB | 5 AST | 5 PTS
Missed too many shots to get in on the good grade parade but didn’t really do anything wrong and made some sweet passes.
|Tyler Hansbrough - 22 MIN | 3-4 FG | 7-10 FT | 4 REB | 13 PTS
Best game in a while. 13 points on 4 shots and a boatload of FTAs. That’s what this team needs from Tyler.
|Jeff Pendergraph - 6 MIN | 1-1 FG | 1-2 FT | 1 REB | 1 AST | 3 PTS
Looked good. Got a nice dunk.
|Lance Stephenson - 23 MIN | 3-5 FG | 5 REB | 3 AST | 4 STL| 7 PTS
Classic Lance: some horrible turnover and some wonderful passes. Hit a three. Got a ton of steals. Liking his game more and more everyday.
