it is a really close one but i think iggy is more vaulable cause while he might only average 13 points per game he is a better defender, passer, and he does'nt jack up shots like granger.

Who uses FG% anymore?

Danny's has Iggy beat in true shooting percentage career 564 to 554.

Danny is essentially a poor-man's #1 guy (by that I mean, he's a go-to guy, but not on the same level as somoene like Dwayne Wade). Iggy is more of a second-banana type, who would ideally be paired with an explosive scorer. The Pacers need Danny because he's the only guy who can fill that role on this team. Replacing him with Iggy would hurt the Pacers, while I think putting Danny on the 76ers would improve them because they lack a go-to scorer. That said, in the right roster, Iggy might be more valuable.

I love Granger and George.

Wondering... Does Iggy play point forward because he is just that good and versatile? Or does he play point forward because he is Phi's best option at point? Lebron takes that position thanks to skill, obv. But I think there is a good chance Iggy gets that position thanks to others' lack of skill. Isn't their a stat for usage? Usage, as in how often, when on the court, the player is involved in the offensive play? Would be interesting to compare their usages.

I favor Granger solely because of his ability to hit the three--even though I hate it when he settles for that shot. You're right to hopeful George can lift his game to Iggy's level. The athleticism and defense is there--so all that is lacking, really, is experience and a more frightening body frame.

While Iguodala is technically a SG/SF, I always felt he was better suited as a SG. He's just been forced into a lot of SF due to the Sixers personnel and propensity for small lineups.

Regardless, Danny is a better player, but Iguodala has been (at times) a better player for his team, being relied on as a Point-Forward in the last couple seasons. Over his whole career Iggy has averaged [roughly] 15 pts, 6 rbs, 5 ast, and 2 stl. A very good all-around total, but Granger has been a more consistent shooter while only giving up less than 1 rb & 1 stl on average. (3 ast as well, but that's just not what Danny has historical done in his career, even though he is having his worst assists-season since his sophomore campaign with the Pacers.)

Both individuals are good players though - No doubt about it.

Another similar player to throw into the discussion is Rudy Gay, who has similar size and stats to Danny, but is much more like Iggy in regards to his athleticism. (Also, Paul George is closer to the Rudy-mold in my opinion, maybe with a dash of Tracy McGrady potential.)

Even though it's a very good analisys, I think the reason why I'd pick Granger is a little more subtle and intangible. As it's been proved in these last few weeks, I think Granger is more of a leader than Iggy is. Danny usually rises his level as the season progresses, I can´t wait to see what he is going to do in the playoffs having some supporting cast for the first time in his career.
Still, Iguodala is a heck of a player and if I could, I'd like to have both on my team.
On another matter, I was thinking what is actually more difficult to come across, a scorer such as Granger or a versatile all-around player like Iggy? I'd say they are both rare and, therefore, valuable assets, the kind that once you get a hold of, you just don't let go.

Danny. No homerism either. You also can't go on shooting percentages because I bet Danny takes about 2-300 more threes than Iggy does. And obviously you're not going to shoot as high of a percentage on those. He also shoots better from the line. I could look it up, but I bet Danny's pps is higher than iggy's even with the lower fg%. Assists are lacking because Danny has been jacking up shots pretty much his whole career. Also, I can't name the last true pg Philly had. I think that may have an affect on the assist totals. Same with rebs. Danny is standing 28 feet from the basket on a lot more possessions than iggy is. Very similar players, but I go with Danny 9 times out of 10.
