Pacers Players Speak Before Game 6

by on May 24, 2012 at 4:32 pm

My apologies to Danny Granger. I mocked him earlier today for seemingly not knowing the regulation size of a softball. But that was based on just a written quote. As you can see in the video above, “notorious sweller” Granger actually characterizes the size of his swollen ankle as “a small softball — if that exists. Maybe a baseball.” He adds that it’s “not crazy big” and that he has “had a worse ankle sprain where I’ve had to miss like two weeks but this one” isn’t that bad by comparison.

Roy Hibbert, David West and Dahntay Jones also offer there thoughts leading up to Game 6 tonight. Jones offers his thoughts on what will happen if Granger can’t go or has to play only reduced minutes. “Danny is out leading scorer, but our parts are interchangeable, and I think we’ll be OK,” said Jones.

    Why in the hell haven’t we been trying to go into the paint like this all series?

  • Bat

    Barbosa 2 quick turnovers. He sucks

  • Bat

    Right now I think we need to swap Barbosa by Jamaal Crawford. what do you think guys ?

  • NoLookPass

    Half the reason our bench sucks so much is they can’t get a call to save their lives, everything under the sun has been called on them this series and it takes borderline assault to get to the line while the Heat can do what they want and the officials let it slide.

  • NoLookPass

    Remember when we felt that we had defense on Wade figured out, I miss those days.

  • Bat

    We need to go for D.Will this summer.
    Cheering Pacers from Mongolia. Now 9am in here.

  • Realist

    Our bench does a suck a bit. Although Tyler can draw fouls like a boss.

    Still, gonna have to lean on the starters for 40+ each, no point resting them now.

  • Realist

    11am here in Australia. =)

    #PacerGlobe

  • Sorry

    @Bat
    D Will would never go to the Pacers. Sorry, not realistic.

  • Bat

    LeChoking choking again

  • Bat

    @Sorry why?, joining Pacers will be easiest way to get the Ring.
    D Will is now his prime, he don’t have time to join building in progress team like Orlando, New York or Somewhere big markets.

  • NoLookPass

    Here is a telling and mind blowing stat. Since we up 49-38 with 2:12 left in the first half of Game 4 Wade is shooting 32-of-48 66.7% from the field and he missed his last shot to drop it to that!

  • Question

    @Bat
    One, Hibbert is up for a new deal – he will be getting one. Collison is up for a new contract. George Hill as well. When the NBA stars look for dream destinations, the pacers arent one. And im a pacers fan….
    Dallas will offer Williams a max deal (which i dont know if he deserves) and he will go back home to his home town. Im sorry to break it to you, but the Pacers arent a “championship” team. The Thunder, Heat, Lakers, Boston, etc., those are teams where players want to play. Im a Pacers fan, but im also realistic that this series is over if Bosh is playing. Do you honestly think the Pacers will be better than the Heat the next 4 years? Chicago? Boston will reload.

  • Question

    @Bat
    I wouldnt mock Lebron. He is playing bad and the Heat are down only down 2 and have only 10 rebounds…. Lets home the pacers take it to the rim more.

  • Bat

    @Question.
    I’m wondering you still consider Boston for title runners. They are out now old and will decline year after years.
    Dallas same, Dirk is aging, all the key players have past their prime.
    Dallas get swept by OKC u know ?
    Lakers are looking like they are on the way of breaking up.

  • Bat

    Yes I think Indiana Pacers will be better team than Miami in coming years, at least even.
    We don’t need Hill&Collison, if we bring D.Willl.

  • NoLookPass

    Why on earth did we come out and start shooting jumpers?

  • Question

    @bat
    Well we differ in opinions, but thats okay! Each man is entitled to their opinion! I think the Heat, Chicago are at a different level than the Pacers. LeBron is only 27, Bosh 27. Their ceiling is much higher than any of our players. Just watch, Williams won’t even consider the Pacers. Rumors out that Bird is leaving for a different position somewhere as well. I’m just wondering why you think the Pacers will be better than the Heat. Chicago?
    LeBron is by far the best player in the league and is only 27 (coming into prime), wade top 5. Bosh top 25. DG is our best player? West – declining health (knees).
    I think if Bosh plays this whole series, it would have been over in 5…
    Dude I hope you are right though!

  • Bat

    The thing is bringing D.Will to Indiana will shift play of every rotation players of Pacers.
    West will be better, Hibbert will be better, George&Granger will thrive with D.Will.
    Just like Boozer was in All-Star in Utah.

  • Question

    @bat
    Well D Will won’t be coming… so he won’t be making anyone better. I’m sorry man, it’s just not happening. The NBA is contracting (stars going to one location to play together). Why would he go to Indy when he could play with Dwight or Dirk? Orlando was the 3 seed before Dwight drama and he got hurt. Paul Gasol and pieces for Williams is a possibility for the Lakers. Indy isn’t in this thing.

  • Bat

    Kick out Barbosa from the court!

  • Realist

    Barbosa is a joke

  • NoLookPass

    Down two points and we have picked up two T’s

  • Realist

    Make that 10. F*ck me we finish quarters badly.

  • Bat

    @Question, OK, but you need to realize how much progressed Hibbert&George from 2 years ago.
    Howard will be bit worse, Dirk will become worse that now by 2years.

  • Realist

    George Hill layup at 7:20. Then our only fields goals were:

    6:16 – Paul George makes 27-foot three point jumper (George Hill assists)
    4:01 – Darren Collison makes 26-foot three point jumper (David West assists)
    1:19 – Paul George makes 23-foot three point jumper (Leandro Barbosa assists)

    ugh

  • Bat

    Cut down f*ng turnovers damn

  • Realist

    Hibbert and West. Hibbert and West. That’s how we’re going to win it guys, keep it up. Everyone else can have the scrambles.

  • Question

    @bat
    Hibbert and George have come a long way, but Dwight is a top 3 player in this league healthy… I’ll take Dwight over Hibbert and George combine. Dwight is a proven 22-15 combine with small pieces like Turk and Anderson. They are a top 3 team in the east. I just don’t think it is realistic that he would come to the Pacers, sorry.

  • Bat

    Wade shows how great player do, hands down.
    Barbosa’s dumb play&second round bench play costs this game. But give Pacers credit fighting with great team in this level.
    Our staring 5 has at least equal play with MH.

  • Bat

    ***second quarter

  • NoLookPass

    Can’t win in playoffs without superstars.

  • Question

    Heat at different level than Pacers even without Bosh. This series shows how much superstar power means.

  • Bat

    @NoLookPass Nothing is impossible.

  • Question

    @bat

    Nothing is possible without a star. Pacers dont have any…

  • Bat

    Guys need to remember how OKC reach at this level.
    They eliminated from each rounds. Against Lakers&Dallas two elite teams having their peak years.
    Then now LAL&Dallas slowed down by aging, OKC completely dominated them.
    I hope Pacers will have same path as OKC.
    Wish you good for All Pacers Fans from Mongolia.
    /Now i’m back to work ;) /

  • @bat

    @bat
    You need to remember, OKC has Durant and Westbrook. Dumb response and comparison. Sorry. Also Miami has 3-4 peak years leaft, Chicago is coming into their own.

  • NoLookPass

    OKC has two young superstars starting and the best player in the NBA off the bench and then they have the leagues block shot leader by almost double the next closet player all under 24yo.

  • OKC comparison? Really?

    @bat here is your comparison

    SF: Durant > Granger (by a long stretch)
    Westbrook > Hill and Collison combine
    Ibaka > West
    Harden > George
    Perkins < Hibbert
    OKC is at a totally different level.

  • OKC

    @NoLookPass
    Good points. However, Harden and Ibaka are up for new contracts soon. It will be interesting to see how they manage that. Ibaka’s agent wants 8 figures (which is high) and Harden is being discussed as a max player (by other teams looking for a upcoming star and willing to pay).
    Big Durant fan here though! Go OKC!

  • dwain

    well Pacers great season, sad to see it end on such a pitiful note

  • @dwain

    Great season indeed. Unfortuntately LeBron and Wade are super superstars. We dont even have a top 25 player and they have three (only needed two).

  • S.O.F.T lmao

    Like BIRD Said they are S.O.F.T!!!!!!!!!! Dog that barks don’t bite So GRanger don’t talk if you can’t back it up!! Goodnight PACERS!! lmao

  • AMEN S.O.F.T lmao

    @S.O.F.T lmao
    Talk is cheap. Lebron and Wade shut them up. Didnt even need Bosh. Heat are just a different level than the Pacers will ever be with that roster. Granger, stop talking. You are a fake tough guy.
