Post-Game Grades: Pacers Don’t Lose to Wizards Again
The Washington Wizards are an NBA basketball team, but let’s not pretend this was anything more than a televised practice. You get no gold stars for a great start that is followed up by three quarters of token execution and mediocre play.
Way to go, Paul George.
The rest of ya? Look forward to seeing you play for real against Boston.
|David West, PF 34 MIN | 3-13 FG | 2-2 FT | 6 REB | 1 AST | 8 PTS | +15
Worst game of the year?
|Paul George, SF 40 MIN | 9-19 FG | 8-8 FT | 14 REB | 3 AST | 29 PTS | +16
|Roy Hibbert, C 24 MIN | 6-11 FG | 1-1 FT | 4 REB | 4 AST | 13 PTS | +11
Roy Hibbert, double digits. Double digits, Roy Hibbert. I hear you guys both like Parks & Rec and foul trouble. /heads off to check on other party guests and refill peanut dish
|D.J. Augustin, PG 37 MIN | 4-9 FG | 9-10 FT | 4 REB | 6 AST | 18 PTS | +13
Ice water at the free-throw line and has now had back-to-back quality starts. That phrase makes it sound like I’m talking about a middling starting pitcher who didn’t get shelled, which is fitting, I suppose. Because as recently as last week, I would have presumed a AAA call up from the Durham Bulls could have run a better second-unit offense than DJ.
|Lance Stephenson, SG 29 MIN | 3-9 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 2 AST | 6 PTS | +10
Oh me oh my, that dunk. Not much to talk about otherwise. Missed two layups late that could have been costly if this wasn’t the Wizards.
|Tyler Hansbrough, PF 15 MIN | 0-3 FG | 2-4 FT | 3 REB | 1 AST | 2 PTS | -8
Not the best night for the HandsBros.
|Gerald Green, SF 18 MIN | 1-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 3 PTS | -6
Played better than his line, making a nice pass or two, sticking a three and generally looking good for one of his stints. Forced a pass, but liked what I saw.
|Sam Young, SF 8 MIN | 0-1 FG | 0-0 FT | 2 REB | 0 AST | 0 PTS | -6
|Ian Mahinmi, C 23 MIN | 3-5 FG | 3-4 FT | 11 REB | 0 AST | 9 PTS | -2
Razor close to his first double-double with the Pacers in extended minutes as Hibbert faced foul trouble in the third quarter.
|Ben Hansbrough, PG 11 MIN | 0-3 FG | 1-2 FT | 1 REB | 0 AST | 1 PTS | -3
The hell was that pass?
|George Hill, PG DNP COACH’S DECISION
