Post-Game Grades: Pacers Fail in Philly
After getting handled in the fourth quarter of a 98-91 loss in Philly, the Pacers are now losers of four of their last six games. With only 15 games left before the playoffs, all of these games are Pass/Fail.
Indiana needed this win badly tonight, but at no point during the evening, did they look remotely prepared to take it. Even in their win on Wednesday against the Timberwolves, the Pacers have been far from crisp. Their play seems to be heading in the wrong direction.
Fail one. Fail all.
|David West, PF 27 MIN | 8-13 FG | 2-3 FT | 4 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 3 TO | 18 PTS | -5
Looked like he’d have a dominant game, but got some dumb fouls that limited his 1st half minutes. Was on the floor during the entire embarrassing 4th.
|Paul George, SF 41 MIN | 6-17 FG | 4-6 FT | 14 REB | 8 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 2 TO | 18 PTS | +3
Stuffing the box score is nice, but the Pacers need him to score, and teams have been able to complete disrupt Indy’s offense by attacking him when he overdribbles…which is pretty much every time he puts the ball on the floor.
|Roy Hibbert, C 36 MIN | 9-26 FG | 7-8 FT | 10 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 2 BLK | 0 TO | 25 PTS | +7
Hey! He got 25 points! Only took him 26 shots to get ‘em. Probably should get some credit for getting that many shots while getting his ass absolutely handed to him by Spencer Hawes.
|George Hill, PG 39 MIN | 5-15 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 8 AST | 3 STL | 0 BLK | 2 TO | 13 PTS | -6
Beat up the front of the rim like it slept with his sister and didn’t call her back.
|Lance Stephenson, SG 29 MIN | 1-6 FG | 0-0 FT | 4 REB | 6 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 2 PTS | +4
Seems like Lance was much more impressive, when I had no expectations from him whatsoever.
|Tyler Hansbrough, PF 21 MIN | 2-3 FG | 4-4 FT | 6 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 3 TO | 8 PTS | -2
Hair too golden. Laugh too musical. World too much a better place for his mere presence in it.
|Sam Young, SF 5 MIN | 0-0 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 0 PTS | -13
Here’s what I remember about Sam Young’s game: a Pacer flashes open momentarily in the lane. Sam stares at him. A Philly defender steps between Sam and the Pacer player. Sam stares at him, then throws the ball directly to him.
|Ian Mahinmi, C 12 MIN | 1-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 0 AST | 0 STL | 1 BLK | 0 TO | 2 PTS | -13
His white shoes looked weird at the bottom of all that navy and black.
|D.J. Augustin, PG 9 MIN | 0-0 FG | 0-0 FT | 0 REB | 1 AST | 0 STL | 0 BLK | 0 TO | 0 PTS | -1
Did he play?
|Orlando Johnson, SG 21 MIN | 2-4 FG | 0-0 FT | 3 REB | 2 AST | 1 STL | 0 BLK | 1 TO | 5 PTS | -9
